Michael White Loses Turner-Fenway Ride -- Picks Up New Ride For 2016
Michael White coming to the 2015 year knew he was possibly gonna be stuck with an underfunded team once again after racing for multiple underfunded teams in the past seasons, however, White got a big chance to race for a big team with Turner-Fenway. Michael White with 22 starts, has 0 wins, 2 top5s, and 5 top10s so far this season placing 22nd in points right now. Compared to his teammates with 2 wins a piece, White has been the weak link for Turner-Fenway of 2015.
With occasional runs upfront White has found success he has struggled to find, Turner-Fenway decided they needed a driver they know is great. Eric Burton, Season 9 Champion, will replace White in the #16 Subway Ford for 2016, racing in the same numbered car he drove to a championship with. The hopes for Burton and Turner-Fenway is high. However, with Michael White getting the boot there wasn't many options for 2016.
Michael White has only 1 win in his career going all the way back to Cape America in Season 7 (12 Seasons and 215 Races Ago), many said before 2015 that he was a washed up driver with nothing left to show. With the boot, thoughts of White returning to 2016 was slim after having thoughts of retirement early in 2015. Despite everything one team found Michael White still worth something...
Athenian Motorsports and Michael White to team up for 2016. Athenian Motorsports a rookie team for 2015 has struggled early this season but lately has been getting better with Matthew Rodriguez behind the wheel. The team has been getting solid Top 20 runs like they have been wanting and plus upsetting a win at Texas World! Athenian Motorsports is on the uprise and with another veteran coming in behind for 2016 with Michael White as the driver. Can't say that Michael White won't have a chance at possibly winning with the team. It'll be interesting to see how White does with Athenian.

Turner's comments about White:
"I am glad that Michael was able to help our team the way he did in the #50 car, earned a few top-10's and being good teammates with Jake and I. But with mid-grade performances for most of the season, and with new sponsorship coming in with Eric Burton for the #16, we felt it was best for us to let Michael go and explore other options for 2016. However, it felt good to give him a chance to show people he can still do this. And I know he'll drive well with his new team next season. We do wish him the best."
