Now we are down to 11 rides left available for the 2016 season... The 2016 Sony Cup Series Schedule will be released to the public either in November or December. We are unsure if we will start the season in February or April like we did this year. It is more than likely that we will start the 2016 Season at the exact same time we started this year. If that is the case, we have 31 rides for 2016 filled and locked with 7 months until the start of the 2016 Season. That is insane.

2 of those 31 rides filled in 2016, is the #31 Red Whip Toyota and #32 Tide Toyota for Red Viper Racing, a new team for the 2016 Season and has plans to buy out owner points of the Mountain Dew Racing team closing down after the 2015 Season Finale. The drivers to race on the new team are no strangers....

#31 Jackson Williams

Yes, Season 10 Champion, 6-Time Winner, 12th All-Time Most Winning Driver, Jackson Williams is returning to racing in the Sony Cup Series. Jackson has raced in Season 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14. In Season 12, Jackson Williams coulda woulda shoulda won the title and tied Richerd Johnson for the most title of all time. However, a messed up points system in Season 12 and Season 13 really messed up Jacksons standings. After the runner-up in Season 12, Jackson struggled to be his competitive self, he went in Season 13 and Season 14 winless. Season 14 was a terrible year for the champ, Jackson decided SCS racing wasn't for him at the end of the season. With offers on the table for Season 15, Jackson vanished from SCS Racing. However, he is back, and immediately after his announcement of returning, team owner Nick Pericles hoped all over the Season 10 Champ. Jackson has accepted the ride, many speculations are on Jackson, as in does he still have what it takes to get it done or is he just a washed up talent? How is the team he's driving for going to do? The team is supposedly to have the same performance as the team they are buying out this season, Mountain Dew Racing, in that case. The team sounds more like a mid field team. However, Mountain Dew Racing has came close to wins this season. Maybe RVR, could surprise us come 2016.

#32 Rick Schultz

Rick Schultz has started 10 races out of 22 this season so far and has only 2 top 10 finishes for Monster Energy Racing. Overall, he has done better than Kyle Collins when he drove the car. Collins drove the car to only 1 top 10 in 10 starts of the SCS season, Schultz has had a struggling season, better yet Monster Energy Racing has struggled a lot in 2015. Dom Caps in the #3 has struggled to do well on some occasions, however Caps has been the better half of Monster Energy Racing nearly having a shot at winning on some cases. Schultz, a rookie of 2015, has raced his heart out. Could it be the Lexus holding back the talent? Red Viper Racing saw Schultz as a good competitive driver for the team and hired him along side a past champion. Schultz in my opinion is real lucky to get another opportunity to try and show himself for 2016. Most drivers struggling to get the finishes don't get that chance. Schultz will get a shot to prove himself.

Red Viper Racing a new team coming in for 2016 has a lot of question marks. How is the new team gonna hold up against the competition? Will they be competitive enough to have a chances at winning in 2016? How are these drivers gonna do? Both Jackson Williams and Rick Schultz have a lot to prove for their team and prove why they deserve a ride on the circuit in the top level of racing. Williams will be back in a car for the first time in 6 Seasons, Schultz this year trying to bring Monster Energy Racing some top 10 finishes and ultimately prove why he has a ride in this series.

Both has a lot to show for 2016.

The Tide Toyota... The tribute car for Collins (his first ride) and a tribute car for Pericles' first win...
